Do you ever feel a slight twinge of hesitation when you close your laptop to make lunch, push aside your planner to soothe a toddler, or ignore your emails to curl up with your babies?
I have. Many times.
As a homemaker, a homeschooling mama, and someone with a business God placed on her heart, I’ve had more than a few moments of tension between wanting to grow something out there and stewarding what I already have right here.
But here’s what I’ve learned, and what I want to gently whisper to your heart today: God honors what the world overlooks. There is no shame in setting the business down for a season—or even just for a day—when He’s calling you to be present at home.
Here’s why that pause holds more purpose than you might think.
Why This Matters
Choosing family over hustle doesn’t mean you’re falling behind—it means you’re moving in faith.
✨ Your home feels more like a retreat than a to-do list
✨ Your children remember your presence, not your performance
✨ Your marriage gets your best, not your leftovers
✨ You model God-honoring priorities over worldly success
✨ Peace comes when you follow God’s rhythm, not the world’s race
I’ve learned that my best days don’t begin with a checklist—they begin with quiet. Before I sip my coffee or crack open my planner, I try to hand my time over to the Lord. Prayer sets the tone. Some mornings, I feel nudged to create or dig into a project. Other mornings, I feel the Lord gently say, “Be still. Sit with them. Let this moment be enough.”
That pause? It’s not a setback—it’s purposeful. And when I let Him lead, everything else seems to fall into place with more peace and purpose than any strategy ever could.
More and more mamas are stepping into the world of at-home work—blogging, crafting, starting small shops, or offering virtual services. Not out of selfish ambition, but because they genuinely want to help their families financially. They’re showing up with good hearts, trying to steward what God has placed in their hands while still being present in their homes.
It’s beautiful. And brave.
But it can also be heavy.
It’s easy to feel torn when the dishes are piling up and the business dreams are waiting quietly in the background. That tension is real. But friend, even the desire to provide is something God sees—and He will honor it as we seek Him first.
I’ll be honest with you—I'm still in the thick of figuring this out myself. Lately, I’ve been learning new skills and pouring love into this blog, trying to create something that blesses others while also helping at home. It’s stretched me. There have been plenty of days when dinner was thrown together last-minute and the laundry sat in baskets longer than I care to admit.
I’ve slacked on routines. Missed quiet time. Battled guilt for even wanting “more” in the first place.
But I’ve recently discovered a different way—one that’s slower, simpler, and shaped for mamas like us. I haven’t shared all the details yet, but it’s helping me work in a way that honors both my calling and my family.
And if you’ve been praying for a way to earn from home while staying rooted in faith and family, you’re not alone. Maybe God is planting something in your heart too.
And the best part? I have more stories, resources, and cozy encouragement coming soon—and I truly can’t wait to share it all with you.
Stay tuned, sweet friend.
